IOWA GOLDEN RETRIEVERS
BREEDING+INVESTMENT
Winnie and Tucker, from different breeders and bloodlines, are purebred Goldens and also half English Cream Golden Retrievers. Their lighter coats are a coveted feature that we certainly fell in love with. (Having a house full of blonde kids, all the hair blends together!)

They are first and foremost family dogs. We chose to leave them as nature created them with the hopes of having at least one litter of puppies for our kids to experience the beauty of creation, the responsibility of caring for the helpless and -honestly- all the cuteness puppies fill life with.

Winnie and Tucker's second litter was born 11/24/23 with puppies ready for their loving homes 1/19/24.
Puppies are available on a first come, first serve basis for $1000. A $200 deposit will hold your puppy until your scheduled pick up.
I will be offering complimentary Christmas Puppy Boxes this year for families who reserve a pup and I'm so excited! Puppies for Christmas are always special, but it can be quite stressful -a new puppy on the busiest and most celebratory day of the year for most households. So instead, I'll be giving families a box to open with a sweet plush Golden Retriever puppy, framed photo of Winnie+Tucker, an adoption document with the name left blank for each family to fill in and -drum roll, please...- a card with a predesignated time to FaceTime with the puppies on Christmas Day! The puppies will be ready 8 weeks after birth.

It is our hope that families searching for the most loving dogs find these puppies, as we firmly believe in the sweetness and beauty of golden retrievers.

OUR HISTORY
With 6 children, we spent quite awhile researching the perfect dog for our family. The gentlest disposition was the key factor in choosing a golden retriever. And it was the best decision we could have made!

Tucker came to our home in Ottumwa, IA just before Christmas 2021 and the next day we welcomed Winnie into the family from another breeder across the state. Both the dogs are purebred golden retrievers, another factor that was important to us. We wanted the standard golden traits, with no surprise variants from mixed breeding. Temperament was the paramount, and our dogs have been the sweetest companions for our big family, as well as instant best friends from first meeting each other.
Frequently
Asked
Questions:
Q: Are your dogs registered?

A: When we selected our dogs from their different breeders, our chief desire was to have purebred golden retrievers who would maintain the well-loved traits of the breed. Tucker, the papa, has papers for United breed registration that we've chosen not to file. Winnie's family purchased their set from a breeder who had purebreds, but charged significantly more if papers were desired. They chose to have them simply as family dogs and forgo certified paperwork.

Q: What vaccinations, etc will be done prior to puppy pick up?

A: We believe in medical freedom, which extends to our beloved pets. Our puppies are free of pharmaceuticals and medications, treated homeopathically when needed. We respect each family's choice for what deworming and vaccinations they wish to provide their puppies.

Q: What will be provided with the puppy?

A: Your puppy will come home with a small blanket that smells of Mama Winnie and their siblings to bring comfort as they transition. You will also receive a supply of the puppy food they've been eating so their tummy won't be upset by a new type of food. We'll have recipes available for you to make their easy and delicious meals at home. If you choose to feed them kibble, you can slowly introduce it into their diet so they don't have intestinal distress.

Q: Can I pick up my puppy early?

A: Our puppies will be a minimum of 8 weeks old before going to their new forever homes. Vital behavioral training and development happens between 6-8 weeks that if not provided can do a lifetime of damage to a dog. We want to give your puppy the best start to their life with you!

Q: How often to do you breed/have litters?

A: This is our second litter and we are simply enjoying the experience. Winnie and Tucker are our long-term family pets and we raise them -and their puppies- as part of our tribe. They aren't relegated to a barn or garage or outdoor kennel; they live in the most traversed and populated area of the home where there's always ample company and care.

Q: What type of puppy food are they eating?

A: Previously, our puppies ate kibble with added homemade bone broth/drippings and chopped chicken or ground beef. We now are on an all-real-food diet for our dogs, so they eat better than most folks we know. They drink filtered water with an added splash of organic apple cider vinegar to promote gut health and create an unfriendly environment for parasites in the intestine.
