Feeding your dog real, whole foods is paramount to their wellbeing and quality of life. We start our puppies on the same foods we feed our Winnie+Tucker, made with love and from scratch right here in our kitchen.

The Basic Recipe

  • Choose a raw ground meat (turkey, chicken, pork, beef)

  • Choose a grain (cooked rice -brown or white, raw oats, etc.)

  • Eggs (raw)

  • Vegetable (frozen mixed bag of small veggies like a bean, pea, carrot mix or chopped potato, sweet potato, broccoli, carrots, etc.)

  • Salt to taste

For a big batch, here's the amounts I typically use:

  • 9 lbs of raw ground meat

  • 5 cups (measured before cooking) cooked rice. I recommend adding in a container of bone broth as your rice cooks in substitution of some of the water.

  • 5-6 c veggies (chopped potatoes, zucchini, mixed veggies, etc.)

  • 2-3 tablespoons salt

  • 1 dozen raw eggs

The Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine ingredients and massage or stir until thoroughly until well mixed.

  2. Place in casserole dish(es) filled about 2" high, cover with lid or foil.

  3. At 350 degrees, bake for 1 hour 20 min.

  4. Let cool, then break apart for meals. This recipe can be made ahead and frozen (the oatmeal-based is especially good. Some may not like the consistency of the rice after freezing.)

Ideally, you'll be making this once a week instead of food prepping every day. Planning and cooking ahead keeps your week stress-free while your dog enjoys the best nutrition and delicious meals.

Go ahead, fill up their bowl and your plate! It's that good!
