I forget how fast our puppies grow. One minute they're tiny baby hamsters, then they're ready for college.
Our puppies turned two weeks this past Friday and we're in the midst of a heatwave. Last night, after hearing the puppies whining and seeing Winnie panting up a storm, we did a midnight move from upstairs where it was, shall we say, "tropical", to downstairs where it's as cool as a cave. After getting Mama Winnie and babies set up, they all bedded down as happy as could be. I'm so thankful we have a respite from the heat and that this week it will cool down some.
The puppies began opening their eyes this weekend (although I caught them all napping when I took pictures) and our kids have been in heaven watching them change and grow. At the moment I have two children negotiating turns for who gets to snuggle the puppies and take pictures of the overwhelming cuteness.
Everybody wanted in the picture -ha! Papa Tucker LOVES being included in everything, so he requested joining the kennel club to make sure the set up had his approval. Winnie spends some time with the puppies in the cool basement, then comes upstairs and outside for snacks, meals, romping and pampering.
The puppies are on the cusp of outgrowing their birthing pool and will upgrade to the larger wading pool for a week or so until they're ready for their larger play place. I've found it best to make that transition when they wean at 3 1/2-4 weeks old and that's right around the corner.
If you're considering adding one of our summer puppies to your family, please reach out. We have reservations coming in and it's first come, first pick. It's always fun to help people find their best personality match and we're happy to answer questions. Pop me a note here and I'll get back with you ASAP.
It's an honor for us to love these puppies into your hearts and homes.
