Starting at 3:40pm Winnie began her birthing on Black Friday -what a deal!
Our daughter, Waverley, stayed by her side as her main midwife while I was nearby entertaining our 8 month old baby.
Birth.
It is amazing. And one of the main reasons we chose to breed our Goldens was so that our children could experience the miracle of the creation process, birth and raising babies.
We feel that way with our large family -we have six children, ages 16 years to 8 months- and are open to being blessed with more. Because it IS a blessing.
Our kids are aching to hold the puppies and snuggle them all day, but we're letting Winnie have her bonding time, getting her babies into the rhythm on feeding and sleeping. She is an extrodinary mama.
Winnie birthed 9 puppies -all strong and healthy- 5 boys and 4 girls. They are gorgeous and all but one are currently favoring the light English Cream coloring. Both Winnie and Tucker are half English Cream and we love the lighter coats.
Tucker hovers nearby and is so curious about the puppies, but doesn't dare cross Winnie who is in her protective stage and tosses him a hard stare and a low warning growl to keep his distance. The kids are a different story. They gently approach her and ask if they can pet her puppies. She let's them pet her and then her babies.
I should probably get Tucker a cigar chew toy. "Congratulations, Pops! Now mind your business for the next two weeks -Ha!"
But seriously, he is such a loving husband and daddy. Our Winnie and Tucker are beyond blessings to our family.
